OK, so I broke a floating thermometer in my tank, the exterior glass broke but not the inside with the mercury? Although the little balls that are in there...some of them fell out. Does anyone know what they are or if they are dangerous to the fish? I fished out the broken glass but I can't find...

Is it possible for a mollie to breed with a swordtail or a platy? Just asking because one of my friends refuses to mix them because he thinks they can breed together. :silly:

I have a couple of green tigers too, they look very different than the platinums.

Does anyone have any experience with these beautiful fish? I am thinking of getting one but have read such differing opinions about them! I have a 130 gal. tank with about 140lbs or lr 1 flame angel, 2 pink skunk clowns, 2 ocellaris clowns, 3 convict blennies,1 royal gramma and 1 sixline wrasse...

I'm thinking of buying a cowrie from a friend of mine, but the ting is really big, and I'm not sure what they eat or if it'll go around my tank knocking over all the LR. Does anyone have any advice on these monster snails?

ok I was asking about a hogfish but decided against it....how are blue hamlets? The books I have don't have any info on these guys! Anyone with words of sdvice? I have an emperor angel, flame angel, yellow tang, brazilian gramma, six line wrasse, 2 ocellaris, 2 pink skunks, 3 convict blennies...

Does anyone have any info on this fish? Or has anyone kept one and have any insight into its behavior, like is it aggresive to other fish or will it wipe out my crab or snail population? Any info at all would be nice! thanks in advance!

A friend of mine brought me a mandarin(synchiropus splendidus) for my birthday-not a fish that I would have bought myself-and since I don't put anything directly into my main I put it into my QT that has no live rock 3 weeks ago. Now I know everyone says you need to have a ton of LR to keep them...

the tang is in my qt, and my main tank has been running for over a year. I bought some cupramine and a copper test but had heard that it was a bad isea for tangs

I just bought a PBT and it seems to have 3 or 4 spots on it, looks like ich, it is rubbing against a plastic log (something to hide in). Now I've heard that you should not treat tangs with copper for ich because it will kill the bacteria growing in their stomachs, so what would you suggest? :?:
