75 gallon acrylic - how much to offer

Hi, usually a lurker here, but I found a 75 gallon acrylic on craigslist and the guy wants people to make an offer. It looks (from as much as I can see in the picture) like it's in good shape, has its stand and is pre-drilled. I want to go up a size from my 55 gallon. Any idea about the value...

Stocking larger fish for 55 gallon

mus - that's exactly why I'm wary of Discus. They are beautiful, but I'm worried I can't really take care of them properly. As far as cichlids, I have thought about that, but I still have my Gouramis and don't think they can live with the larger cichilds, right?

Stocking larger fish for 55 gallon

Okay, depending on if my guormis get to go live with the Betta....I am thinking of putting just a few 2-4 depending on size, larger fish in my 55 gallon. I like the Oscars, but even 2 of them seem to be too big for the 55 gallon when they get big enough. Part of me like lots of fish swimming...

Can/do Bettas and Guormis co exist?

I have two tanks, a 12 gallon with a betta and a 55 gallon with 2 guormis and a cory cat. I'm thinking I want to add fish to the 55 gallon that may not work with the Guormis (I may change my mind though, lol). Can the betta and guormis live together? I've seen that they can be compatible with...

    Stocking my 55 Gallon SW

Yes, a total of 9 fish listed. So I guess no starfish:(. That was more for my kids, but kind of cool. And I'm okay with 9 being the max. As long as I have enough room for the chromis to school back and forth. I love to watch that. I will check out the lyretail hawkfish.

    Stocking my 55 Gallon SW

Thanks so much! I'm so paranoid about overstocking. I'm glad to hear maybe I can add a few more later on. The Coral Beauty shouldn't pick on the Chromis right, so long as I have enough Chromis to school? And yes, the 12g is my FW, the 55g will be my SW. FW only has 2 guormis and a minnow...

    Stocking my 55 Gallon SW

Thanks for the input! I am doing FOWLR so no reefs at this point. I spend too much time with my horses to try to keep up reefs too. I'm so excited, I've always wanted a saltwater so I'm going to give it a go.

    Stocking my 55 Gallon SW

I made the commitment to do a saltwater tank. Crazy or not, since it's been YEARS since I've had anything more than a 10 gallon FW setup or a betta. My uncle passed away3 years ago and this was his tank, so I'm doing this for me and as a memorial to him. We both loved fish! Anyway, this is my...

So, I got the tank, now what???

There is nothing in there at the moment, not even water. I just moved it to my house. I'm not using the old gravel. I thought bleach but was worried it wouldn't rinse out enough. I think I will try that. So what do you think about sand instead of gravel? Is that something not for beginners...

So, I got the tank, now what???

So I got my tank. My aunt gave me her old 55 gallon. Actually it belonged to my uncle who died young of cancer. She's ready to move on, so I'm happily carrying on his legacy (well I'll try). It came with 3 fish, two Guormis and one minnow. They are in a 12 gallon for now until I decide exactly...

    Hello! Another Newbie

Thank you all! I'm just a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I was used to glass tanks. Now I see all these other kinds, acrylic, etc. What is recommended? Krap101 - We're hoping to get started for under $300, but truthfully, I don't even know if this is reasonable? After looking at all the stuff...

    Hello! Another Newbie

Hi, I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. Horses are my biggest hobby, but I've really missed my aquarium and have decided that I'm finally getting another. I had one for around 5 years, just a 10 gallon which was a pain, but I made it work. After my husband and I made our last move...
