- My Tanks
- I currently have a 55 gal tank with African Cichlids: one red peacock, one bi-color 500, one python island, and one duboisi. These fish occupy about 30 gallons of the tank. The other 25 gallons are inhabited by 3 z-rocks, 3 OB peacocks, and 2 orange hongi all about 2 inches long. I'm waiting till the summer to put the bigger fish in a 125 gallon tank I have at my home in Chicago. The fingerlings will remain in the 55 gallon tank until they are big enough to be put into the 125 gallon tank. I have an eheim 2217 canister filter as well as an Emperor 400 by bio wheel. I have three atrtificial plants and six live plants were recently added. The gravel ranges from medium to large (the peacocks like moving it around). I have made rock piles for both sides of the tank which provide my cichlids with caves. I do not remember the caliber of my heater but I keep the temperature around 78 degrees F.
