    75g Reef, Which Canister?

Well, I was going to say that if you didn't want a debate then keep your mouth shut and don't post on an open forum. Then I thought better of it because you would report me and I would get in trouble with the Mods. Ah well, who the **** cares, time I cut the link to this crybaby *** forum...

Yup, I hope he does. If not, enjoy your new headache.

    LED Fixtures

Oh yes, I know that they can control LED fixtures, just not sure (from your previous post) that you are understanding how it is done. Neither can control a TaoTronics (or same fixture by some other name) without modifying the fixture itself. The power is not controlled at the electrical outlet...

Honestly?... The skimmer is a piece of crap. Sorry, but it is true. A complete waste of money. If you are looking to save money here look into BubbleMagus skimmers. Everything else looks great. :)

    75g Reef, Which Canister?

My point exactly. Who really wants to bother breaking down a canister every week? Not me for sure, it is way too time consuming. To properly maintain a canister you need to take it completely off and dump it. Have you ever seen what collects in them? I have canisters on my two freshwater planted...

    75g Reef, Which Canister?

Honestly, skip the canister and forget about the CoraLife skimmer, spend your money on a good skimmer. If you go the route you are planning then you will just be spending the money again later by replacing the hardware that is contributing to issues and/or not performing at all. Just my 2 cents...

    75g Reef, Which Canister?

The poll needs a choice of "none of the above". Canisters are too much trouble on a reef tank. They are very efficient at what they do, that is collect detritus. If not cleaned often enough, at least weekly, all that collected crap turns into nutrients in the water and then you have many...

    LED Fixtures

What controller can do this? I know the ReefAngel can't and pretty sure the Apex can't either. The outlet boxes are for on/off and you need to be able to hook the fixture to the dimming capabilities of the controller. The ReefAngel has two ports in the outlet box that control dimming by...

    More Return than Drainage?

Um... No, it's not ok. If your are returning water faster than you are draining it you WILL end up with a burnt up return pump, a big wet mess all over your floor or both.

    Power Heads

OP... The 6045s are not controllable via their head unit. They are either on or off and you adjust the flow manually with a little slider thing on the pump housing. A proper Tunze setup that will let you mimick a Vortech will cost you just as much as the Vortech. If you want to save some money...

I have turned to the salty side

Everyone I have ever heard of, or seen, that has tried the black sand in a reef tank hated it. Enough so that they remove it and replace it with the regular white stuff very quickly. I will PM you a link to a website that has a killer deal on sand.

That's one of them. Looks like that auction has ended though. The fixtures go by many names and are sold by many different retailers.

Search eBay for "LED reef lighting". Look at the 120 watt fixtures. You will be surprised by the price! Sure, they still only run the 3 watt BridgeLux diodes at 2 watts but that is the trade off for using BridgeLux diodes instead of the more efficient, and more expensive, CREE diodes. These...
