- Presently operate four tanks - from one of the original Tropiquarium 88 the way down to a Fluval Edge. In between I have a ten and a 20 gallon tank with assorted species in each. The moast intersting for me is the 230 since it is being used to see how top do home aquaponics with a dedicated growing cover with 13 net pots under a double T5 fixture - the lighting for the tank is a strip LED. The only filtration is a small fountain pump that drives water into the plant chamber to remove nitrate as the fertilizer for the plants. Fish include pearl danios, dwarf rainbows and emperor tetras with a red tailed black shark to generate nitrate for the plants
