Best light to show off Neons

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately, a little expensive for us, since we bought the whole kit and kaboodle for $50 at Walmart. Will keep it in mind, though if we end up with more tanks, which, let's be honest, that will probably happen, lol.

Best light to show off Neons

Also have a cheap, temp solution in case the switch completely dies. I bought a long picture frame and two, battery operated LED strip lights from the dollarstore. Used the glass with edging and put the lights on top. Put off a surprisingly nice bit of light...at least for a 10 gallon, lol.

Best light to show off Neons

I fiddled around with it today, and you were super close! It's the on/off switch. Something inside won't stay connected. Right now, I have it taped in the "on" position and the lights are staying on. I'll just have to plug/unplug right from the plug for now. I think if I try to pry open the...

Best light to show off Neons

The LED lights, that came standard, just went kaput on me today in my Glowlight Tetra tank. Tank was a cheapo 10 gallon kit from Walmart, so I'm not surprised. Obviously, I now need a new light, lol. I want to stick to LEDs, but don't want to go as "fancy" as we did with the 90 gallon tank, and...

Lol, true, true. My BF keeps telling me to leave the tank alone, but I can't help looking for floating fur, or cloudy water, or counting and recounting each school to make sure everyone's good. And, because it was a second hand tank, I'm constantly checking for soundness. It's been at least 15...

Thanks! I will definitely look into that, Delapool, sounds like fun. Do they only do that contest for St. Patrick's Day? Does anyone else have trouble NOT fiddling with their tanks? I keep looking at it and think "Now, if I move that plant....oh maybe I'll shift the bubbler over an inch....do...

Where best to hang HOB filters

NVM, figured it out. The 110 is on the far left, with the intake tube going to just above the substrate, an AquaTech 5-15 is in the middle, with the intake at about the middle of the tank, and the 50 is on the right, with the intake 3/4s of the way down. Hopefully, that's all areas covered...

It was an awesome score! The guy was only getting rid of it because the wife wanted it gone. I did have to buy the lights, plants, stand, and sand, but I just shopped around. I think, even including the fish, the whole set up has cost us $400cad in total. Sent from my SM-G903W using Aquarium...

Where best to hang HOB filters

I guess I should mention that this is the first time I have had two HOB filters on an aquarium. Common sense says one each end, but that might not be right for aquariums :/ Sent from my SM-G903W using Aquarium Advice mobile app

Newbie, but not to fish, lol. I have, over the years, kept Goldfish, Guppies, Cichlids, Piranha, Oscars, Sharks and assorted little friends. Have just got back into the hobby though, thanks to my bosses who needed a new home for their 3 common Goldfish..and it's gone from there. We have a 90...

Where best to hang HOB filters

We have a 90 gallon aquarium with an Aquaclear 110 and an Aquaclear 50. I am wondering where the best placement for them should be for water circulation. Side by side or one on each end, or does it really matter? Right now, the 110 is in the middle and the 50 is to the right. The tank has pool...
