Sadly he did not make it through the night. 2005 - 2014 I buried him in the garden today. Was really hard to let him go. Thank you for all you suggestions and advice.

Hey I did have frozen water bottles in the freezer already so I put them in the tank. The temp came down. Sadly Tigo did not make it overnight. I've been totally heart broken. Finally buried him out in the garden. Thank you for all your advice and suggestions.

I do not have a water tester to see the water nitrate annomina etc. The tank is currently at 26 degrees. I just done a 50% water change and put in vita pet water ager. I also done new 50ml dose of melafix and primafix (I done this yesterday and it cured his sore fins and red mouth overnight)

We use to have an aqua one filter. The usual one you see under a 4ft tank. But it broke after 2 yrs. so we went for a massive sump and filter set up but felt it just wasn't necessary after 2 yrs. Plus it was loud as hell. Then we decided on a smaller one that doesn't need a whole cupboard...

Yes big pump which pushes air bubbles all through the water. I did clean the pump under fresh water from tap but I made sure to keep the balls inside all grubby as I know this is 'good bacteria'
