Not sure I agree, but only because I have never had anyone tell me that before. It may not be "ideal" but really is any aquarium ideal compared to a natural habitat in the wild?
Are you being serious? A lot of people have 20gals. I also only had a problem with a group of corys, not consistent issues.
When I originally setup the tank no one on here said anything about a 20gal not being suitable for fish...I have never heard such a thing.

Those fish will grow! They won't stay small for long. A 5gal tank is way to small for anything other than betta in my opinion.
I would skip the 10gal too and get AT LEAST a 20g.
I am treating my tank with maracyn and maracyn 2, today was the 2nd day. my water got cloudy today and then right now i just looked and all the fish are at the top gasping except for the cories!!!! do i do a water change?
any idea? rivercats recommended maracyn 1 + 2.
