Idk about the look you prefer but I bet those mbuna will think they've died and gone to heaven in there. I know you're iffy about live plants but some fishing line and anubias tied here and there around the sides and top would look awesome. You've got plenty of light for them and they are...
The plants I have are all low tech low light. I've never had live plants either and so far my large SA cichlids haven't bothered them and the mars 165w lights are way more than needed for them.
Nice here's an updated pic of my tank currently. I took out the strawberry planted for now, I like the left side with the Anubias tied to the manzanita. Thinking I'll build the main feature in the back 2/3 on right, outward. Suggestions? I have two more awesome looking two tone manzanita...
One of my EBA males has damaged anal and dorsal fin. The anal fin actually started as a pin hole and has since turned into what you see below. If it's an injury will it eventually grow back or should I be treating him for something? He is otherwise very healthy and spawning for the second...
As for par and all that technical stuff I don't know, whatever par would be appropriate for a 40g depth breeder with moss balls, java moss and micro sword assuming light would be set a few inches above water
My wife is setting up a 40g cherry shrimp colony and will probably use a few moderate to low light plants maybe a few high light not sure. I don't really want to use a hanging fixture so one with enough juice to grow most plants but under $100 and top mounted would be awesome. Any suggestions...
They were in my backyard from previous owner but I saw some at lowes last time I was there. I like the cave idea, not sure if I'll leave mine in or not. Cutting in half might work, the fish love it, but it takes up a lot of swim area
I agree with the 750gph per 1" drain overflow, I've got a 1375gph pump wide open on my 180g and it's pretty much got both my overflows maxed. Could maybe handle a little more so it's almost dead on the 750 in my estimation.
