I just bought a 150 gallon tank and i'm going to have around a dozen corey's for the bottom. Is pool filter sand an ok substrate? My filter is a Fluval FX6.

I have considered plants. I guess it depends on what type of fish I decide to go with. SA seems aggressive, love the looks of the SA! I have no idea what I like. Good thing is, I'm in no rush.

I'm not sure what type of Cichlids. Do you have any suggestions. I've been looking at the African. Peacocks and haps. But I'm wide open for suggestions.
