Moor appears to be shedding its tail

We have a ten gallon tank that has three goldfish - a moor, an oranda, and a fantail. The moor appears to have shed quite a bit of his tail although he acts perfectly normal. Is this "molting" normal? The other two are fine.

    Spinning Mollie(s)

Numbers and other info. Currently the pH is 6.6, the Ammonia is 0 and Nitrite is 0. Using the quick dip test strip my reading for Nitrate is around 160-170. In an attempt to lower the Nitrate I introduced a Nitrate pouch in between the carbon filter and the edge of the filter basket about a...

    Spinning Mollie(s)

Recently we have had two Mollies on seperate occasions begin spinning in sort of a cork screw fashion. The first died and the second began sometime today. Tank is 20 gal. and tests O.K. except for slightly low alkaline. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :(

Mollies dying left and right! Please help

 I'm in real trouble here. I've been keeping fish since last January with very little illness (ick and cotton tail only) Now I've lost three gold dust mollies and the forth is currently experiencing the very sad "spin of death." They appear to become disoriented (can't tell bottom from...

    Pop Eye - Bug Eye?

Thanks. It appears that the pop-eye is going down a bit. But if it continues for a day we'll put him in a hospital tank and treat.

    Pop Eye - Bug Eye?

Thanks for the reply. We use a "test strip" that examines a variety of water characteristics. All are showing acceptable levels. Again, all other fish including two other mollies, both female, are fine.

    Pop Eye - Bug Eye?

A male mollie lyretail has developed popeye, (we think that's what it's called). Water tests fine, tank is partitioned, (We have a dozen new fry). Salts been added. All other fish appear to be fine. Temp. running 76F. Any thoughts appreciated.

    New Mollies in our Tank

Aqua Mini Sponge? Are the aqua sponges readily available in pet stores? I don't think I've noticed them before. Thanks for the advice. BTW, do tetras breed easily? One of the "fry" is very different looking and we were wondering if the tetras were also active.

    New Mollies in our Tank

We're relatively new to this but we have another new set of fry, (Mollies), in our 10 gal. tank. The problem is that a few of them have gotten sucked up in our filter draw tube. Ay suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Lyratail Mollie Annoying to Other Mollie

Thanks for the input. We lost the one fry we had, appears to have ended up being breakfast for one of the group. We're hoping for more but none yet.

Surprise New Addition to Our Aquarium

Thanks, folks. We really didn't expect additions this soon. Gotta' admit it's pretty neat. :o

New Betta covered in white fuzzy hair

We're very sorry about your lose. We recently lost a Mollie to the exact same thing. My wife even tried, don't gasp here, washing it off the poor fish but to no end. Our Mollie had it also all over her tail and it immobilized her. We put her in a hospital tank for a while but she still...

Surprise New Addition to Our Aquarium

While watching our fish feed tonight we found a new addition to our aquarium, what appears to be a tiny baby Black Mollie. So, do we do anything special? We’ll begin researching, but we’re new to all this so any suggestions will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Lyratail Mollie Annoying to Other Mollie

We recently added a lyratail mollie after loosing a favorite black mollie. This new addition follows around, appears to annoy, and we think nip at, an existing orange and black mollie. Is this normal? Should we isolate the new mollie for a while? Any comments and/or suggestions will be...
