New tank? If so, diatoms... Shows that your cycle is moving along nicely... Red leg hermits and turbo snails will take care of it.

Thanks! I have 15 lbs of live sand and a couple of small live rocks... I'm looking to add some macro either this weekend or next. I've got a small compact fluorescent on that that is on a timer that will put it on when the main tank is off.

I've had this in my basement begging me to fill it for the past 2 years or so... Finally got around to it. Built myself a sump, plumbed it, filled it and added live and base rock today! Can't wait to start adding fish and inverts!

Thanks all. No worries, I knew I was breaking rules adding fish early, but I wanted to experiment. It has really been working out perfectly. Everything appears to be healthy and acting normal. I have since added another live rock that has a cluster of green star polyps which are pretty cool...
