Going back to a little picotope - need advice for my small tank journey

It's not in clumps. It's covering the walls, the plants, the rocks. You have to wipe/scrub it off to clean it.

Going back to a little picotope - need advice for my small tank journey

Thanks. I'll take a look. Everything I read about diatoms say they are common with new tanks and they tend to go away on their own. Mine never really did. So, it leads me to believe I might have them in my water.

Going back to a little picotope - need advice for my small tank journey

After starting with a 4 gallon, I got excited and got a 6.6 gallon (sold the 4). Then a 20G (sold the 6.6). Then another 3. Then sold the 3. No matter what I did, I had diatoms. Brown crap everywhere. Months passed, and then a year, and still, brown crap. It's easy enough to wipe off aquarium...

Dwarf gourami with clear thing from anus - what is it?

Thank you! I'll look that over. Thank you so much. There's nothing to see, actually. The clear-ish thing hanging from his anus is gone and he looks the same otherwise. He was flashing against some stuff last night, so that indicates internal parasites to me. I'm headed to the pet store...

Dwarf gourami with clear thing from anus - what is it?

:( Juicy Fruit (that's his name) is still kinda hiding out in the back corner. Not interested in food. Lethargic. I don't have a quarantine tank, and no idea what meds to even use, so I really don't want to go $40+ (quarantine tank, heater, filter, meds, etc.) in the hole just to throw some...

Dwarf gourami with clear thing from anus - what is it?

I've had my dwarf gourami for about 10 months. In the last few days, I've noticed he's been hanging out near the bottom back of the tank. Not as active as he usually is. Not interested in food during feeding time. Just tonight, I noticed a thin, mostly clear/transparent thing hanging from his...

On my (slow) way out of the hobby... need advice

I have nowhere to put him unfortunately. I don't have a spare filter or anything.

On my (slow) way out of the hobby... need advice

I gave it an honest go. I really did. I'm tired of my tank being a death trap for live things. :(

On my (slow) way out of the hobby... need advice

They are glowlight tetras, not glowfish. One died a while back, now there are six. Never did find that body. :hide: If the DG was the problem, how would I know it? All the snail and fish deaths are rather generic... nothing really sticks out about the deaths...

On my (slow) way out of the hobby... need advice

I'm not looking to stay in the hobby. It's been a colossal waste of time and money. I do not enjoy it. I've gotten my fish from two different LFS and PetSmart. They all seem to suffer the same fate. I can't get most of them past five months. The only fish that have done well is a dwarf gourami...

On my (slow) way out of the hobby... need advice

I don't know about the water quality report. I'll look. I will post if I can find a link. I have gotten my fish from two different LFS and PetSmart. I've had problems across the board. The fish that have done well are my dwarf gourami from PetSmart and my glowlight tetras from my LFS. I am...

On my (slow) way out of the hobby... need advice

I was adding Seachem Flourish Comprehensive, but haven't added that in at least three months now, as I never saw it made any difference.

Parameters: Ammonia: 0ppm Nitrate: 0ppm Nitrate: 20-30ppm Phosphate: .5ppm My third and remaining cobra endler is missing. :nono: They didn't even make it 24 hours. No water softener here. Just tap water with Prime water conditioner. I'll dial back the LEDs.
