    show off your fish

It's a Tiger Shovelnose. I bought him about 3 months ago,he was only 3 inches long,in those 3 months he has grown to 9 inches. At this rate by Christmas he will or should be about foot and ahalf! By then I guess I'll sell him off at the next OCA auction.

    Removing silicone.

    Removing silicone.

Heat gun seems to be working but its a slow go. Does anyone think heating the glass just enough to soften the silicone would harm the integerdy of the glass ie crack or become brittle.

    Removing silicone.

My goal is to get it off in one piece, that hammer and wooden block thing...with my luck the tank would be on the curb the next day.

    Removing silicone.

I also redid a 55,but I used a garden hooked up to the hotwater faucet and losened it that way(just softened the silicone and pulled apart). My problem with the 125 is that the trim is glued on the inside of the tank as well as the outside. I want to try and save the trim because new trim is 45...

    ph in cichlid tank (80)gallon

For Africans your ph should be at 7.0 or higher.Using crushed coral or dolamite would keep your ph at a safe level.
