I love loaches! So fun to watch! My yoyo loaches used to lay on their sides like that too. The first time they did it I thought for sure they were dead or dying!! ?? And they would eat out of your hands and nibble your fingers!

Yes the roots only. I have a jungle of roots growing in my main tank. All the fish like hiding and swimming in them. I'll put a few cuttings in with babies. Even if just for some cover. I will try putting the food near the bubbler!

Yes I definitely agree with the aqueon heater. I wish I knew about the warranty! I had one randomly explode on me years ago (thankfully no harm to fish) just weird sounds and smells! But I threw it away. Darn it that thing was expensive at petco lol!
