- We have a 1 gal tank with an air stone and a light...high pH hard water, and alkalinity. It is home to a neon tetra who has had a rough time. We have a 10 gal tank with great water perimeters 0 nitrate, soft water, alkalinity about 80, pH is about 7.2. This tank has a biofilter and a heater. This tank doesn't have any fish in it yet. Both tanks are caring a temp of about 74 degrees.
