When I set up this tank I tried to establish a mean/average hardness based on all the requirements of my fish , I did do plenty of research on this but thanks for the input.

Hello.
I have a 150 litre aquarium with a co2 system , live plants and a number of tropical fish species including 5 sterbas corydoras.
Last week I unfortunately lost one of my sterbas , after inspecting the tank and the body I could not find any issues that could explain his death. Since...
Hello again.
I tried the cooked pea method he/she seemed to eat it normally, I have not seen it poop as of yet but I will continue to watch carefully.
A bit of an interesting development though the swelling seems to have decreased slightly leading me to the conclusion that it is some sort of...
Hello.
I have a shoal of lemon tetras ranging in ages from a few months to around three years. Last week I noticed a strange swelling on one of the older tetras , at first I thought this might be dropsy however the swelling only occurred on one side and there were none of the usual symptoms to...
Hello.
I have a 150 litre planted tank that I have had for several years and I currently run a fluval aqua life and plant strip led that puts out quite bright lighting, unfortunately it is not dim-able so I have to rely on the room lights in order to reduce the shock to my livestock when it...
Yesterday I noticed that my golden nugget Pleco had a slightly larger belly than usual he also had a strange white fluff protruding from his anus.
I was about to feed my fish tonight and I discovered him on his back in some sort of spasm.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've had this...
An update on the status of the male ram.
I transferred him to a small 8 litre tank last night I realise that this is a bit small but hopefully he will not be in there for too long , I started a course of hole-in the head treatments today after i looked up another post on the forum about a gbr...
I've been monitoring the water temperature closely and I've not seen any significant temperature changes , as for the addition of the female to the tank it is possible she is bringing on his stress.
I went looking for him this morning and discovered that his back fin, the one that was clamped...
Hi thanks for the reply.
The flashing that I observed earlier appears to have stopped , i wasn't able to see him this morning so I searched for him tonight and discovered him hiding behind the foliage. He is still quite dark In colour but I have not noticed any new symptoms as of yet , the...
Some more pictures
The female spends a lot of time next to him and she continues to occasionally nudge him, sometimes he will return the favour other times he seems to be knocked off balance by it. If the male moves to another part of the tank she will sometimes follow him and other times...
Hello.
I have had a male blue ram for approximately 6 months, he has been on his own for around two when is previous mate died. Last week I introduced a new female to the tank which he became very interested in and the two seem compatible.
Yesterday I noticed a slight colour change in the male...
I'm not sure what it was , based on the research that I had done i was concerned that It may have been Tetrahymena a parasite known to affect dwarf cichlids but luckily It looks like a false alarm , the brown area on the ram I spoke of earlier is where the scale has dropped off taking the growth...
