- Though I have Cichlids mixed together from different regions, somehow ALL of them reside VERY harmoniously. Literally is there any aggression you'd expect. My main issue is I keep getting ich even tho I'm always on top with water changes, have a Fluval canister filter attached to each end. Sadly, I have bad water quality due to me living in an apartment complex. They refuse to have n RO\DI system professionally installed since they are more concerned about having a couple holes drilled into their previous 20 year old leaky kitchen pipe underneath my sink. In turn I have spent so much money just to make sure my fish are as comfortable as they possibly can. Poor kids. Thank gawd Cichlids are tough hardy species. Yes my fish are alive and highly active, but I wonder if they are thriving. Living and thriving are two different things.
