Out of your list I'd go with 2 GBR, tetras, sterbais, 1 BN plec, shrimp and guppies. Maybe a well planted tank too, with bogwood and lots of caves and flat stones?

Just done a water test with my api test kit, readings are PH-7.4, AM-0, NI-0 and NA-20. That's before my PWC. Is the nitrate a bit high or is that normal?

Would a betta be ok in with a pair of GBR? Only asking because if I have to treat tetras, corys or glass catfish in the small tank then id have to put the betta in with the rams as a temporary measure.

I have put some stones into the new tank from my other one. If a betta will work then il give it a bash. I have read up on them and found out that they are good fish to keep but with the temp steady between 24-26 and more regular than normal water changes and a varied diet, is that right?

It has been in sea water but is there a way of soaking it to remove anything harmful or is this type of rock not compatible to freshwater fish?
