Sorry for the long time between updates, but so far I have aquascaped the rocks, put 90 lbs of sand in the display tank and 30 lbs in the refugium below. I also made RODI water and mixed salt (found out I need a lot more salt) and put that into my tank. Put all the plumbing together and fixed a...
I already have an aquarium set up with filtration, sand and rocks and water (its been running for 4 days, I know it isnt cycling yet). I didn't put enough salt while mixing the water so can I just add the rest of the salt directly to the display tank and wait for it to dissolve that way? :thanks:
Hey everyone! I joined AA about a year ago, around the time when I got my aquarium. I got my tank somewhere in March of 2011 from some guy off of craigslist. Long story short there were a lot of problems and mistakes I made even before I put water in it. Finally after more than a year I am...

If anyone has any suggestions...I definitely will take them in! Is it better to have a deep sand bed or could it be the death of a tank started by a rookie? Thanks :P
Oh i was talking about the refugium for the time being. Switching gears now! I'm not putting macro-algae in the display...probably a potential tang or herbivore would eat it...anyway. I'm not using LR shocker! I have already bought 100 lbs of dry pukani rock. I will probably only use 50-70 lbs...
I would stock it with chaetomorpha-macro algae. Lots of worms and snails that sift through the sand...like bristle worms and such. Amphipods and Copepods would be directly added. What do you think?
