    Just a few questions...

    1) I don't really know on the saltwater issue. I have heard the rumors, but it seems unlikely that salt wouldn't be able to be cleaned with water. I think it would also depend on what you plan to keep. I don't think guppies or mollies or any livebearer would have a problem, but salt sensitive...

    Bright enough light?

Awesome man, hope it makes your plants explode.

    Bright enough light?

No problem at all. If you wanna talk to some real experts on planted tanks, shoot over to aquaticplantcentral.com and plantedtank.net. I would probably have given up by now without all the helpful folks at aquatic plant central.

    Bright enough light?

Yeah, I think you should be fine with mosses, java ferns, anubias species, an cryptocoryne species.

    Bright enough light?

It would be a little over 1 watt per gallon, but that is a very basic guideline. I would think it would give enough light for medium plants, but it is hard to say with an irregular shaped aquarium. How tall is it?

    Bright enough light?

Yeah, that is what you are looking for. Both of the bulbs in that one are 6500k, which is a 'color temperature'. In the most basic terms, it is the shade of light that you see that comes from the bulb. 6500k is generally the best for plant growth, but you can mix it up a little bit to suit your...

    Bright enough light?

Yeah, that fixture would be good, and coralife is a quality brand from what I hear, but that actinic blue bulb isn't going to help your plants out, so you would need to replace it if you wanted both lights to benefit the plants. You could find a comparable fixture for about half that on eBay...

    Bright enough light?

T5 is the size of the bulb, yours probably has a t8 bulb, and ho stands for high output. T5ho is a brighter fluorescent bulb type. The t-number is a measure of the diameter of the bulb. T5's are pretty small, the tubes you see in most overhead lights are t8's or t12's. There are regular t5's...

    Bright enough light?

The bulbs for your current setup only come in one wattage. You can find some reasonable 2ft setups on evilbay. I would shoot for 50-60 watts at least. A 2ft t5ho 2 bulb would give you 48 watts.

    Water circulation

I would throw a powerhead in there.

    Bright enough light?

Nope. Gonna have to get a different light. What are the dimensions on your tank?

Do you have m/f of both? If so, give it time, and you will be posting 'who wants free platys and mollies?'

    hybrid

I dunno, looks like a chunky guppy to me. I haven't seen a guppy with horizontal stripes like that, but that definitely looks like a guppy dorsal. If they could be crossbred we would prolly have giant guppies by now, as there are mollies that can get to 4-5 inches. I am still dubious to say the...

    Baby senegal bichir food

Guppies! I had one for a while and he kept my guppies under control. Grew him from about 2 inches up to about 8 and then sold him, needed some tank space. Be careful if you have anything with small holes in it, mine got stuck in my cholla wood a few times before I finally removed it.
