Hi sorry
If this is not the correct forum or thread. I've not been on the site for ages and it all looks different. Anyway just noticed that I have 3 sunset platy fry in my tank. I don't have a separate tank to put them in. Can I leave them
in my main tank or is this a bad idea? It's too late to...
Hi I had a similar red spot on one of my guppies about a year ago soon after buying it. Someone on this forum suggested it was ammonia/nitrite burns and suggested a large water change and some salt. It cured it very quickly. Sorry to see your guppy die .
I seem to be having a guppy issue is this dropsy? He has large swollen belly - I've only had him 2 weeks. Water params are fine. He's in with 3 other male guppies and 5 neons. He's swimming around ok. Lfs sold me some melafix and i did a salt bath yesterday so waiting to see any improvement.good...
Hi any ideas please?
I've been away for a week and have come home to find one of my guppies has a large bulging tummy. Is this dropsy? Only had him a couple of weeks when i bought 3 guppies. i'd been down to my last one and he'd started bullying the tetras so i wanted to give him company. I'd...
Oh yes decided not to get any more guppies until I've upgraded. The AqAdvisor site thinks I'd have to much bioload for my hagen stingray 10 filter if I get any more guppies. Next thing is to decide what to go with the existing stock if I upgrade.
Thanks, sounds like I need to be careful with the parameters but can get away with fish in cycling of the new tank as long as I use as much filter material from the old tank as possible.
Hi all. Any advice please? Started fish keeping about a year ago with a 35 litre rectangular tank and its currently stocked with 2 guppies and 5 neons, although probably going to get a couple of more guppies tomorrow, hopefully won't overstock it. I have a good coverage of fake plants. After a...
This might be a silly question but I scrub the plants when I do a water change to get rid of a slight brown algae build up, I hope this does not affect the good bacteria?
That's brilliant thanks. So far so good with no losses. The cobra guppy is still out and about although he gave us a fright last night and we thought he was a gonner. We rapidly did a tank clean and there he was hiding away. The tetra seems to be swimming better too. So fingers crossed. Tank is...
Thanks. Good news is that he's out and about tonight and not hiding. He could be fed up with the other guppy as he's constantly chasing him. Ive been put off buying more as i've lost a few since the summer and I've been worried about disease but maybe i need some more guppies back in the tank to...
Thanks that sounds really positive! I was thinking about jacking it all in today. I did go to my lfs today and the guy said something similar in terms inbreeding. I did get some aquarium salt to add to the water but I'll definitely look at varying the diet too. Currently they're on nutrafin...
Hi re the tb and the bent spine. The cobra guppy just looks as per the picture a bit curved to me when looking side on. The spine is straight if you look head down if you see what I mean. If it is tb how long would it survive or is it best to get rid of everything and start again a quick google...
Hi I have two issues please.
1. My guppy has started to go to the bottom of the tank and hide when the light is on. When it goes off he comes out again. His spine is slightly bent see picture. He is about 9months old.
2. A few of my tetras seem to have a good sheen down their spine see...
