Honestly looks fine to me. For $100 it is probably worth a shot. I will say I am always wary of buying used tanks. I've heard too many horror stories of seemingly sturdy used tanks blow out unexpectedly.
I have seen this method used before and it does work. Granted, you will not be getting the level of co2 diffusion that you would expect with a pressurized system with a ceramic diffuser. For a low tech 10 gallon you should be perfectly fine. I will say, in order to utilize this system you will...
I like the airline host suction cups that Aquarium Co-op sells. The material they make their out of holds up much better than anything else I've used before.
Fish will often go through color/ pattern changes through out the course of their life. This is nothing to worry about and appears to be 100% natural to me.
I am not interested in the box, but just wanted to chime in about the Build My LED. I remember when they were the talk of the town in the planted tank community. I still own a 48inch BML and even after all these years it runs perfectly and I will always stand by the fact that BML made the single...

Typically you don't have to use a microscope to determine if the eggs are fertilized. Usually fertilized eggs will be slightly amber in color in a day or two after being laid and have a little black dot in them. Unfertilized eggs tend to turn white with fungus pretty quickly and can harm the...
There are a few things you can do to test for a rock’s suitability for aquariums. The acid test is the first one. Pour a little vinegar or ph down on a rock. If it fizzes it will increase ph and is usually a limestone or calcium carbonate based. These rocks are not unusable but it is a good idea...
