well first thing you need to know is if your betta aggressive or mellow. Thats the biggest factor in tankmates imo. I had a very mellow betta but when I put a platy in his tank he was not very comfy at all. instead of hanging out at the top of the tank greeting me everytime I came near the...
yes you should have your substrate in your tank when you cycle it, sand or gravel have different pros and cons. Gravel has cracks so food and fecal matter can slip in the cracks however it's relatively easier to maintain, sand food and fecal stays on the top surface making it easier to get it...
No clue yet still have the filter running and the tank full of water so the bacteria doesn't die. what else could I put in a 5.5 gallon tank besides a betta?
Well my betta died :( thought he was napping at the bottom, tapped the glass didnt move then nudged him with my fish net. Didnt move at all, gonna miss this little guy.
They are omnivores but prefer meat, not effective algae eater. I think they like driftwood. Anyway Its L015 if you want to check it out. Its a manmade pleco cant get them naturally.
Hey Reygan, thinking about making a divider for my 5.5g tank and getting a 2nd betta since my current betta doesnt use the entire tank very much. What do you think?
Was looking to buy a bushynose but I saw a candy striped pleco and looked it up online and bought it. Very happy with the new guy/gal. Took a pic at the lfs.
Well the one I got was very very small luckily there is a bigger bristlenose close to full size for sale at another lfs Im gonna buy it if they still have it for sale.
They are doing greatt, eatting well and very active. I like them more than I thought I would. However pleco died not sure if he didnt get enough food or if it was lack of driftwood (or veggies as I just learned they like certain veggies).
I added 5 emerald green cories and an albino bushynose pleco to the tank. I tossed in some shrimp pellets and a algae disc. They ate it fairly quick, must of been very hungry.
