Update on tank...hope this isnt boring you....still at 0.5 ammonia ...done water changes all week...tested all week. Added media from perfect tank...and still have the issue? Any further ideas please?

Ok ...0.25 after testing this morning...better ....should I leave to establish again or should I continue to water change....?

Not branded...but has no chemicals in it...I have another tank with same sand and that's perfect and so does a family member. ..with no issues. I thoroughly rinsed it and did both tanks at same time from same batch of sand

New...just done the media thing...cheers Yes dark....just running out of water and energy ha ha...fingers crossed. ..been a real puzzle this one as I have no issues with my other 2 tanks

Both at zero...have been for several weeks now...ammonia at highest has been 4.0...only once though....most of time and recently its between 0.25 and 0.5...was always a zero...regularly.

Not sure...I vacced the tank before putting new substrate in and there were no fish in tank when putting sand down....good shout though

Ok....since my last post I've completed back to back water changes...and got ammonia down to zero...only to find it goes back to .25/ .50 the day after. Cue another water change. ..no ammonia....back up the day after!!ive reduced feeding in this once established tank....what else can I do??

Gravel has been changed to sand. ... Ammonia perfect from tap. Other tanks in house all ok. I will try back to back water changes with an hour interval and see how that gies. Thanks all for your help and advice...

I'm keeping up with chsnges...they not helping. ...I've cycled 3 tanks. ..fairly easily...this on was cycled till I changed substrate. ..done what I thought was the right thing at the time...changed. ..tested..all good...till now??dont understand what else to do

What u do with fish tho...they cant go in ma other two tanks...?

I cleaned tank of residual waste and filter. ..though I used all the old stuff...didnt replace too much water. ..didnt replace any filters. ..all was well...for 2 weeks. ...

3 platties...not well...2 gouramis. ..ok...3 tetra ..ok...3 rosy barbs. ..ok...2 bottom feeders. ..Small. ..n not well

Thank you...but also done the rinse out of filter. ..gently...in old water. ..still high ammonia. ...wouldn't mind...but this tank was perfect for months

Yes I am...both the usual ones...I changed to sand from gravel. ...I also use same sand in my newly cycled tank with no issues. ...and that has wood in it....problem tank doesn't. ..I also use api to test
