Townsville to Sydney, with about a week stopover in Toowoomba to visit friends. Thinking about converting a rectangle plastic tub into a sump to use on the long visits with friends. I will have the trailer to carry additional stuff.

I'm in Australia and they only worry about fruit and veg on boarders. Already have a air pump with a cigarette lighter adapter for the car.

Temp could be an issue, the esky inside temp shouldn't change to much, just getting it to the right temp will be the challenge. Also I was thinking of putting in a removable tray inside to help keep the water from any violet splashing around, or some kind of baffle system.

Just getting looking for plans or ideas on how to convert an esky into a tank for about 2 weeks (6 days actual driving). This is just incase my job location changes at the end of the year. I was thinking car aerator and a vent tube out the top. Ideas on this project would be appreciated.

It's been in the tank for over 6 months

Over the past week my starfish has lost one leg, another leg is flaking and dying off, can someone tell me if there is anything I can do to save the starfish. I have a smaller red one in se tank which is perfectly fine, also have 40 plus baby snails in the tank, nitrate is slightly high but...

Update on tank, everything is good again. May have lost a yellow goby, unless he is hiding only time will tell.

Salinity is high as well, everything happens at once :( Tank is approx 370L including sump, I've changed out 15L with fresh water to bring down salinity and nitrate. Going to check in a couple of hour if it's improving ill do another 15L, small changes over a couple of days should work.

My Nitrate is at 40 and one of my fish is looking really sick, almost dead. I usually get water from local shop but it's shut for the next 2 days. I need ideas on getting the nitrate down.

I'm up in Queensland (townsville) and it gets hot up here as well , buy a chiller , using a fan on the tank helps, rotating freezer blocks through the sump helps a little bit but I've also got the aircon setup to run during the hottest part of the day. Thick curtains on windows to block out...
