My neon was a pretty mean fish. He kept the maroon clownfish in line. I took him out however because he did kill every single shrimp I had.

I have had a CBB for two weeks in the main and he decimated my aiptasia. Absolutely no sign of any now. Eats mysis like a hog and hasn't touched the coral yet.

This hobby is expensive. Think long and hard before jumping into it -- know exactly what you will need to buy (don't go cheap) and what you will continue to buy.

OK what I did in the meantime is dial down the drain with my ball valve. I know everyone was on me about a ball valve being on the drain but it seems to be working okay right now. Grrr the last thing I wanted to do was drain any part of it...cut PVC and glue again! :) Thanks!

It should be 600 gph with the drain. The PVC does have a 45 degree bend into the sump. A Y? Is that another piece of PVC?

So, I go the sump filled and turned on. Here is the question: Should the water in the drain be so turbulent? It's 'belching' water out of the sump at times! There are no microbubbles in the tank. The Durso level seems fine. No fluctuations. As you can see...the return area looks fine. TIA!

The bulkheads are going through glass. I hope the gasket is on the right side...it is "in" the aquarium. They only have one gasket. The sump is acrylic but I am getting a custom one built..shoul dbe here on Wednesday. I glued the plumbing together.
