as long as you can keep the water temperature consistent, I don’t see the need. I use a regular ceramic space heater which also acts as a tank heater for me and my tanks stay consistent at about 76f.

I’ve heard 1 gallon per frog and I’ve also heard 2 gallons per frog. I personally would say 3 would be fine as long as you keep up on maintenance and make sure there isn’t any aggression between them

I second SCP-079’s suggestion. One of my bettas was fine with neons but he was very old, another betta hates when he can even see the neons in the tank next to his. It’s really about the betta itself and I wouldn’t risk it in a 10g
