I have a 20 gallon long aquarium. As hoods are expensive (and with shipping it might become quite expensive) I was thinking of using a clip-on light to have at the edge of the tank.
It's lightly planted so I don't need anything terribly strong. Just something to help the plants grow a little...
I have Pimafix which I bought perhaps a year ago. I noticed a tiny bit of fuzz on one of my fish so decided to use what I have to treat the whole tank.
The medication is a cloudy color. I can't remember what color it is meant to be. Is this safe to medicate my tank with?
I had 5 or 6 cherry barbs with a double tailed betta in a ten gallon aquarium (in the past) and I never had problems with them. Perhaps if you add to the group it will lessen any aggression. I had more females than males so that is something else to check.
I have a 20 gallon long aquarium with a male betta and four young platies. Any suggestions on what to add? The gravel is rocky so ill be adding ghost shrimp (instead of corydoras).
I have a new 20 gallon long aquarium and I want to get a shoal of gold barbs (7 or 8). If I move my large plakat male betta from my five gallon to give him more room, will he be nipped?
He is quite large (contrary to the picture) and seems to handle stress better than my other bettas (from...
I bought a new 20 gallon long aquarium which seems huge compared to the 5 and 10 gallons I've kept for a few years.
Currently I have two bettas in a divided 5 gallon, so even though I would like to get barbs for the 20G I think it's only right to put one of the bettas in so that they each have...
I currently have three male bettas, all tanks heavily planted with Elodea (I know, not the most exciting plant, but I can't find anything else!). The tanks are 2, 5, and 10 gallons.
I was thinking of setting up a 20 gallon long with dividers to house all my three bettas together so that when I...
I want to lower the Ph of my 5 gallon aquarium as it is quite high, about 8. I don't think my betta really likes it as the rest of the aquarium perimeters are fine, however he seems to be clamping his fins a little.
He is in a 5 gallon aquarium. He has a piece of bog-wood but I have boiled it...
I have:
3 male bettas (one in a 5 gallon, one in a ten gallon, and one in a temporary 2 gallon).
A female ghost shrimp (in my five gallon).
5 baby platies (growing up in the 5 gallon, will be transferred when older).
I am setting up an aquaponics system so more fish will be on the way!
I bought a betta that looks exactly as the picture (link below, sorry it's long). Can you tell me the color variation? Thanks!

My 5 gallon betta tank is at a Ph of 7.8 (it's the fault of the tap water). As he seems to be clamping his fins a bit more often I've thought that perhaps the Ph is too high (as the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate is at 0).
Is this safe to use if I slowly introduce lowed Ph water through partial...
Hello everyone!
My betta has slightly clamped fins. He sometimes holds in his anal and tail fins and I am wondering what I can do about it . He is a large crowntail so I would lvoe to see him swimming around more "openly".
