You learn something new every day

I could do with a deeper background anyway. I measured it wrongly and it doesn't quite reach the bottom :-)

Aha that might be it venymae. Mine was rolled in a tube. I'll get some more and flatten it out first. Where it's stuck it looks great

    Tiny white things??

Most likely copepods my friend. They won't do any harm and are quite common

Not sure if it just doesn't work or my application was wrong but I have a few areas where the background is no longer stuck. I'll try it again and see.[ATTACH]222209[/ATTACH

    Live rock

Live rock isn't a rock or stone at all. It's actually calcium carbonate which is really dead coral skeletons.

    To catch a loach

That's what it's going to come down to, although I'm going to have to remove a lot of the sand as well before I even see it. Maybe steal a fishing pole and line from a garden gnome ?.

    To catch a loach

I'll be moving stock over to my new tank shortly but one thing that I'm not looking forward to is catching my horse faced loach. The little bugger can wizz through the sand like it's not there. I'll probably have to remove most of the water and remove the sand until I can net the bugger. I can't...

    I wish I was a Rasbo

Wired I wonder why they do that. Maybe they know that they know the fish they are shoaling with are not a threat to them and are happy with the security of numbers

    Whats this?

I probably should've expanded on my post as well and went on the offensive in reply to you. I'm new to the forum and don't want to start upsetting folk. A forum group hug ??

    Whats this?

Yes the majority of copperbands die within months of being added. This is because most of us cannot cater for their care and requirements, myself included. I know people who have kept copperbands that have lived a lot longer than the odd month or two and been healthy and well fed with it. I...

    I wish I was a Rasbo

I'm currently slowly transferring my stock from the old tank and into the new. A couple of nights ago I introduced a small group of harlequin rasbos with my last remaining female guppy and ever since the guppy has shoaled with the rasbos. This could be that it's in unfamiliar surroundings and...

    Whats this?

A lot of folk have had success with peppermint shrimps or a copperband butterfly but they can be hit or miss, more of a miss on most ocassions tbh. There is also the Bhergia nudibranch but the trouble with this is that it only eats Aips so unless you want to cultivate Aips you're dooming the...

    Whats this?

That looks very much like an aipstasia. You want to get of that with something like joes juice, if not it'll multiply rapidly and be a nuisance to get rid of. Google aipstasia and research from there
