Hello all, my Aquatech filter has been giving me grief, and I bought a new one to replace it . It's a good 10 yrs old, it lived a good life. I bought the same model and size "50" for a 40 gal established tank with angels in it.
LFS lady recommended running both filters for awhile. I have the...
Hello all,
It's been awhile!
I recently aquired 2 lovely angels for my 40 gal. I'm trying to keep the tank at about 80 degrees...does that sound about right? They are the sole inhabitants of the tank. It's not a new tank though.
Not sure yet if they are a breeding pair...LFS lady was...
Hello, it's been awhile but I'm back at it!
I have 2 juvenile black moors in an established 10 gal tank. Too small for the long term. The GOOD news is that I'm currently cycling a fantabulous 30 gal for my babies. They'll be in their "studio apartment" probably for a few more weeks. I like to...
The only new purchase in at least 3 months was the snail. Regarding water chemistry, do you mean what was in the tank at the lfs? I'm afraid I don't know. The snail was in a tank full of snails, but i seldom ask about their wateror care...i just assume i will be taking better care than they have...
I've never had problems with this lfs, not that they are all that amazing. I have purchased snails there before, but I'm also wondering if the snail was the issue.
Well, I guess I'll be starting over.
That's why I'm so frustrated. Nothing makes sense.
Where do I go from here? Should I do another pwc and keep the existing environment? I'd hate to add more fish if there is a problem I can't grasp.
Oh yes. It's been up and running for at least 3 years, if not more. I tested the water and it was perfect...nitrate, nitrite, ph, ammonia, you name it. Water temp was dead on...the x factor seemed to be the snail but I'm not 100% sure I suppose...
It's been a heck of a day. A few days ago I added a golden apple snail to my 10gal tank with 2 tetras, 2 baby platys and 3 fancy guppies. Within 2 days all the guppies and platys were dead, and just today a tetra died. The guppy I was able to examine closely appears to have had ick. The snail is...
Hello all, are ADF's better off as a pair or will it do ok by himself? I'm thinking of getting one, but is it better to have 2 for companionship? Or do they not care? As much as a frog could care, that is...;)
