I have a reefkoi unit, made in china, but, the guy who sells them is here in the us. good for warranty work if needed. he helped me out when i had a proble m with my unit. it not dimmable but who cares. I have had the unit for two months now and the colors of my corals came out real nice.

try reefkoi corals. very affordable led lights, but, get 14k instead of 20k. unless you like a real blue tank. I have a 200g unit over my 75 and the corals and fish colors have come on. and by the way, i have a 20k unit.

totally agree, the markup on most things in this hobby is way out of line.

forget the hob power filter, go to a hob protein skimmer instead, esp for a saltwater tank..

How about trying going lightless for three days. i have read where this is done on a monthly basis by some people and it works for them. the fish don't care. your water sounds fine

I would check your nitrate levels and do some reading on the subject of old tank symdrone. some tanks go through this .

try ebay. go to petsupplies, and search for copepods, i recomend reef science plankton by greg caudill. good stuff and good price

you are better off getting something like brs carbon and gfo, it lasts longer and works better.

I like quiet one pumps, because they are quiet. If you are going the sump route, buy yourself a used tank that will fit in the stand you are using. its a great place for protein skimmers, heaters, carbon. there are lots of diy plans out there

If the wet dry is for a new tank, then leave the bio balls in. you can always remove them slowly over time once your reef has stablized in 6 months or so.personally i have run a wet dry for 10+ years and never had a nitrate buildup. keeping them clean by using filter pads and water changes.

The led lights will not harm your tank in any way. as they are low light bulbs, they will not cause algae growth and most people use them to accent the tank at night. You are going to use them to view your tank at night, so at most they would be on for an hour or so. as for how many, that is a...
