What else is in the tank? Plants, rocks, wood, moss, algae eaters, snails or shrimps? What kind of filter and heating source? Do you have a sponge filter as well? What’s their diet like? How about their light cycle and have you tested the water lately? Any signs of disease or parasites?

I have read that it is better to separate them to the “breeding” tank then after they breed remove the female after she poops out eggs and then after multiple rounds is exhausted... and then the male will take care of the bubble nest and eggs and then just patience...I’m a noob too though...

If the guppy was eaten there would be a skeleton somewhere. Guppies are known to jump habitats and enclosures so check the ground and surrounding areas/tanks. They are beautiful schooling fish but not as hardy as they used to be and over breeding is a problem with most supply companies. Test...
