I suppose if there was a lot of dead matter on the rocks then it would add some Ammonia. But I can't imagine it would be a strong cycle. One fresh shrimp did a great job for my 40gallon took about 5 weeks.

In an established tank with a set schedule it would seem detrimental to turn the lights off and mess with everything in there. You could just plan to add the new live stock during the night cycle.

Frankly, maybe everyone is stunned. I mean usually people are like "my levels are good" perhaps it's too much info?! Lol I am sure some one with more experience then I will have something to say :)

You could get those slider things at target. Lift each corner up and then slide it over pretty easy.
