Thanks for the reply. That's what I was hoping and assuming, it just seemed so strange, like 3 or 4 on the same day is very unusual for these guys, wondered if maybe there was a secondary possible cause that would trigger a shed that I should know about. Thanks though. :)

I've done some googling but so far haven't come across any pictures that come close enough. I haven't found anything like a local field guide though. I honestly have no idea what I'm looking for to narrow it down so it's hard. If he's deformed, well. I guess we'll probably never know then. :/...
And then here's one of his face from the front. If you can zoom in, you'll notice perfectly evenly spaced rows of white dots, these are only on the front of his face, nowhere else. I'm not sure if that's an identifying mark of his species, or possibly a symptom of something wrong with him. :/...
