I have a 35 gallon tank and stand without a lid. I have all accessories needed to set it up also, but I am hesitant to set it up because I do not have a lid.
Is there fish that could be stocked without a lid? and lighting options without a lid?
Is there anywhere you can get custom lids made?
thanks for the advice. The pearl gourami is definitely the boss of the tank right now. It is only about 2.5" in size as are the rest of the gourami. The pearl will chase the others around but no nipping or sever aggression... no fins or tails missing pieces anyways. The redtail shark is...
Hi, just looking for suggestions for something to finish my tank off with.
Currently have a 60 gallon with 1 Redtail Shark, 1 Pearl gourami, 1 golden gourami and 2 blue gourami. Also have 6 albino cory cats and 1 pleko. Not sure what kind of pleko it s but will be watching it grow and...
I have a 60 gallon aquarium that currently has:
2 x tinfoil barbs (I don't know how long I want to keep these as I bought them on the advice of the LFS without realizing how big they get... will be getting rid of them sooner or later... though not really sure what to do with them.)
4 x Gourami...
Sorry I should have mentioned that we also have ammonia test strips and the water was tested by the fish store a couple days ago. Amonia read by them and our strips is at 0 as well.
So, I have a tank at work (group home) that was just recently started. Prior to getting this tank my coworkers and I had no idea about nitrogen cycling and all that. But we were able to get a really nice 60 gallon square tank with a nice light and a really good canister filter. We put fish...
I did get the timer working correctly and with the lights adjusted as they are I came back to work after 3 days off and there is no new algae growth! So thanks for everyones help.
As far as the setting for UV light goes... should I leave it at 0 or is there an appropriate level of UV light...
OK, so now that I have my light sorted out - I have adjusted the lights all down to 20% and have put the UV lighting to 0% (Should I have a little bit of UV light on?).
But now that I realize the source of my algae growth... where do I go from here? Just continue with weekly cleanings until...
So, I was sold this light by the fish store (Big Al's in Whitby) for a freshwater aquarium. I have just learned in the fresh water getting started forum that this is actually quite a powerful light for growing reefs (Big Al's did not explain this at the time of purchase).
So, my question...
The light is an AI Hydra TwentySix. It was really expensive and comes with a remote that doesn't even work right. It has lunar cycles, storms, multiple timers you can set up and overall I would say it was a fancy addition that was a waste of money.
We are currently having the lights on...
Also, the cloudiness is mostly white but there is some green algea visible in the rocks at the bottom. With the light on the cloudiness appears very white, but with the light off it appears to have a ting of green.
