- 125 gallon tank set up with African cichlids, mostly mbunas, the tank has a 2 inch sand bottom with 2 piles of rock, 1 is large rounded stones about 6" diameter, the other is flat limestone plates about 10". For filtering I have a DIY fluid sand bed made of 3" clear PVC pipe 5 feet long powered by a Gretch CHJ-6000 pump.A SUNSUN HW-304B canister filter for mechanical filtration. It has a few floating plants and some jungle vals. This tank has been going about 10 years with the exception of the plants which have been in there for about 4 months.
