My new to me 55 gal I got for $60 off craigslist. Got it set up yesterday. I went with sand, basic pots and some slate tiles and will add driftwood and plants.

Ammonia was 0 Nitrite was 0 Nitrate was 20 Did a water change after I tested. Weekly water changes, levels are always good.

Forgot to mention...she also hasn't eaten in 3 days. At first I thought maybe they were breeding. The other one became even more protective of her. But now I'm not so sure what's going on. She's swimming around a little right now, but still looks like she's struggling.

My oscars have them regularly from digging in the gravel.

I have a 75 gal with 2 10"-12"tiger oscars, a 10" pleco & 6" green convict. The oscars are bullies and will chase the convict around when he comes out. He's moved up to the largest boat I have, but is quickly outgrowing it. I need something a little bigger for him but it has to be something...

Almost 2 weeks in (Saturday) and I'm at 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and about 5 nitrate. Have 3 gourami, 2 green barbs and 3 plants.

I added 2 oscars to my established tank on Sunday. Don't have a qt tank, so let them sit in the tank in the bag about 45 min then added about a cup of water to their bag every half hour for several hours. Added only the fish, no bag water to the tank. They were doing great until I got home...

Waiting the 5 minutes for the water tests to finish. I'm so impatient!

Thanks! I'm heading out today to get some plants and a couple more fish. I'm going to be slowly changing the gravel in my established tank, so I'm going to put some of it in a mesh bag and put it in the new tank to help get it going.
