I do weekly 25 to 30% PWCs and I test my water every couple of weeks. I finally cycled about 1 month ago and since then all my fish/shrimp/snails are happy :)

Glad to hear you like the lights! Is your tank salt-water? Mine is a freshwater one and I haven't had any problems with corrosion. Only option would be to get a piece of glass or acrylic and affix it to the lights with crazy glue or sillicone. I hope that helps :D

Do you find that shrimp add a lot of bioload to your tank? I'd like to get more but I'm scared of overstocking my tank. I can't seem to find two of my three shrimp so far. I guess they'll come out at some point. If they haven't come out in 2 weeks I'll definitely start to worry!
