Not as bad now just removed more rottin pellet under an ornament , the tap water here contains 0.25ppm of ammonia anyway before it enters the tank :(

Yea well my fella scatters pellets around the tank for the shrimps, I notice that those pellets end up rotting and don't get eaten , will have to check the gravel again I only did the gravel I could see n didn't move any ornaments

Just did a water change about 40 % and then checked ammonia and it's 1.0ppm the water smelt bad too!! Nitrates have gone Down to about 2.0ppm when it was 5.0 last week, do I do another pwc or wait until later and check again !!

Ammonia 0.25 nitrate 5.0 and nitrites 0 in the tank now

Just added 5 fish to my tank , 3 neon tetras and 2 male guppys , the ammonia went to 0.25 so I did a 30% water change , nitrates are only 2.0 ppm , do I have to keep doing water changes everyday while the ammonia is this high?? Is 30% enough ?

I guess the stress caused by the journey from the shop to your home could be enough to kill your fish. I know u can't feed a new fish for 24 hours min and u have to keep the tank light off too

I'm going to my bfs for 4 nights, will my fish be ok without food?? I have 3 X-ray tetras in a 19L tank, shall I give them extra food before I leave?

I think live plants remove ammonia from the tank
