Temperature compromise for White Clouds, plants, and Endlers?

Hi all, I've got a ten gallon planted that I've been trying to keep without a heater, but it's just getting too cold in the house without one and I think the plants are suffering for it. So I picked up a little Tetra one today before I have to leave for business later this week. Unbeknownst to...

    Advice for a young Aquarian

Hey, I almost started breeding guppies years ago and I began with about thirty tanks, but there was no market and way too many fish. I could've filled every tank in a matter of months. I would highly recommend looking into one of the easier egglayers instead. They are a bit more difficult to...

    Shrimp with Endlers and WCMM?

Hey all, I've fallen back in to aquariums very casually. I've got my ten gal setup with lowlight plants and at the moment a funky group of two neons, three White Clouds, and three Endler males. I have a bad feeling that one of the endlers is going to pass soon, and though I do love neons I...

    Companion for lone rummynose?

My rummynose is now all alone as of an hour ago- the other rummy died and I cannot get any more of them as the local fish store shut down. What would be a nice companion for the poor thing? It's 10 gallons- I had to downgrade, it was originally 30- and I'd like only a few fish, relatively hardy...

    Are my female guppies pregnant?

Just leave them in the current tank. It's not worth it to move them. Some may survive, some may not, but it's a wait and see game. Netting them would be nearly impossible, and you can't afford to have forty fry growing up in ten gallons of water. Yes, it's kind of horrible, but it's nature in...

Stocking Suggestions - Re thinking my fish

Elephant noses are hard to care for and require specialized tanks. Cardinals and rummynose tetras are both good options- do you like guppies or gourami? Delivered via owl Ministry of Magic

    Freshwater stocking ideas

I wouldn't do GBR and gourami to be honest. My GBR were nasty when they paired up. I'd look into starting with the hardier gourami before you touch rams, they're hard to work with sometimes. Maybe one pearl, some cories, and a school of tetras. Delivered via owl Ministry of Magic

    What do you guys think?

Guppies aren't hard to breed-- they're hard to breed right. Keeping a strain is pretty difficult, which is why I concur with Mebbid in that you should start with wilds. Much more forgiving that way. Sent from my iPod touch using Aquarium Advice

Reviving dead reefs with new "seed" polyps

Humans were kind of nature's Frankenstein monsters, it needs some help. It's like being an amateur boxer or something and a pro comes to fight in your match- not gonna end well. Anyway, this is a thing, I've participated in dives that do it off the OC coast and also on installing thousands of...
