Thanks! Yes you need to slowly open the regulator valve until the 2 clear diffuser canisters fill up and then close it. It took about 6 hours for it to diffuse into the water.
Day 2 Update:
Before adding the co2 I tested the pH to see if the substrate alone has affected my pH values and IT DID! My well water usually runs 8.2 but after 1 day it is down to 7.2!
Then I connected the new mini co2 kit. I know it’s not very advanced but I’m just looking to give a little...
I’ve taken over my daughters 13 gal tank that had a few plants, regular gravel and driftwood. Her platys slowly died off after about a year, so I’ve kept only her driftwood, plants and healthy filter media with the good bacteria. The pH was always high at 8.2 from our well water. So here is my...
Sorry for the late response and thanks for the added suggestions. No noticeable change to the BBA yet so I might do the hydrogen peroxide spot treatment tomorrow and WC.

Yes they are adjustable with full spectrum, preset combinations and you can save custom settings. I have been using full spectrum for the core hours and sometimes in the evenings we play with the other modes. Not confidant in customizing yet.

I am looking for added advice to what I have read about, in order to get rid of black beard algae based on what I have going on in my tank.
Set Up:
60 gal, 48”x13”x24”
Fluval 306 canister filter
Substrate - Pool filter sand mixed with black blasting sand (80/20)
2 – Current Satellite LED plus...
Botia Histronica = Golden Zebra
Botia Kubotai = Angelicus
I've found loaches.com to be a wealth of info. The Angelicus will develop silver spots within its darker bands.

2nd Pic
Couldn't get my phone to add two photos at once. Her is the Golden Zebra...they look so similar when juvenile, but he definitely has a more golden hue.
We finally decided on some bottom feeders for our 60gal. I love the Botia loaches and so far we have found two Angelicus and one Golden Zebra. They are not easily found at our LFS in VA. I got a couple good pics today...1st is the smaller of the Angelicus. Looking for more to have at least five.
Ok, so we cycled a 60gal recently and have been following the rule to add only a few fish at a time. Started out with 2 blue gouramis (1m & 1f) and 1 pearl gourami (female). Purchased 3 boesmani rainbows (1m, 2f) and 3 turquoise rainbows (1m, 2f) from LFS a week ago. They are all in the 2-3 inch...

Thanks! Yes, I've read mondo grass is not truly an aquatic plant and will eventually die. We are limited to only a few LFS within an hours drive and didn't see much else. I would prefer to get some cabomba or anacharis...at least something that grows tall.
