Thanks Aiken, Yep, UK. I'll perform more water changes then. Maybe clear out the ornaments too. Thank you kindly.

    Molly

Hi, had these appearing on some of my mollies for months now. Only on about two fish at a time over about a year. The rest (about 20 mainly juveniles) are fine. It doesn't seem to spread throughout the community. It's never affected my neon tetras that have been in there for four years now nor...

    Water changes

Thanks. I figured the 30c for fish at 25c was the better choice than just cold water from the tap. Thanks for the reply. [emoji106]

    Water changes

Hi all, I use a hose pipe (specifically for the aquariums) with a spray end I use for water changes. The tap water goes through three filters. Foam, charcoal & sponge that removes chlorine etc. It then goes via an electric water heater that can be set between 30c & 55c or just normal cold water...

    Mollies

Hi, If I have white, black and orange mollies and they breed what colours can I expect? Will they come out with patches of black, white & orange or will they be one colour? I like mollies but the constant breeding makes it difficult to keep them as they soon outgrow the tank & I know all males...

    Blue guppies

Oh that's interesting. Thank you. I'm guessing they'll be hard to get hold off but I'll ask my LFS to see if they can order me some. Blue guppies are beautiful! Thanks again.

    Blue guppies

Hi, This is probably a silly question but I generally have no idea... I wanted to breed different coloured guppies which I know is easy however do red, blue male etc guppies have female equivalents? Is there such a thing a a blue female guppy? I've never seen them in LFS What I'm getting at...

    Multi tank

Hi, I wanted to setup multiple aquariums for breeding & simply to have all the fish I want but can't otherwise. I'd rather have a single filter for ease of maintenance but then this causes obvious problems with different temperatures & any disease breakout. An air system would be a solution...

    Dechlorinator filter

In regards to mine it's a standalone cylinder filter which can sit vertically or horizontally (it's manufacturer says) which I never believed to be honest. It needs to be kept upright to drain after use and kept away from sunlight to prevent the growth of bacteria Imo.

    Dechlorinator filter

Neither do I, I'd say be mindful of how they're kept though.

    Dechlorinator filter

It says it on the site but then again it's kicking out nitrites and that wasn't a helpful warning on their site neither [emoji17] Maybe I'll go back to using chemicals. Can't go through this again.

    Dechlorinator filter

It's a chlorine and chloride remover filter you attach to the tap. Not sure if it's carbon based. I've just found mine is producing high levels of nitrites and a huge pH swing.

    Dechlorinator filter

Has anyone ever had an issue using a dechlorinator filter for water changes. After two months of scratching my head over unexplained tank deaths in all my tanks I linked it to water changes. I'm going to test it for ammonia and chlorine today but I'm convinced it's this. Had anyone ever had...
