I'm considering buying a Fluval U2 Internal Filter for my 64ltr (16 Gal) freshwater tank. I've seen some negative reviews (not many) where people claim in removing media to clean, you contaminate the tank with the foul water.
Otherwise, this filter reviews very well.
Any thoughts?

Going away for a week this summer and leaving fish for first time. I've been told I can simply feed up until departure and do not need to worry about any feeding while away. This sounds slightly suspect, but has come on good authority.
Plan to clean filter as usual and test water day...
Hi. 64 litre with night (blue) and day (white) fluorescent tubes. Adding a fertiliser weekly. Nitrates are usually ok to slightly high during cycles between changes.
