Okay...I am wanting to upgrade my 30g main to a 55 or 75, problem is I need to set up the new tank where the 30g. My questions are will a typical subfloor support a 75g or would a concrete slab be recommended(even with a weight dispersion?) The wall and floor in question are shared in a duplex...
Left Overs???
Your Ottos may be waiting for left overs??? Your feeding schedule may have changed when you moved your betta out? Most bottom feeders are nocturnal and having an active betta, removed, could be why you are not seeing much in the way of activity during the day hours...Just a...
Algae or fungis???
You try changing your perimeters for your live plants? I had such an outbreak...using algaefix and a fertilizer for my amazon swords, and moss balls seemed to do the trick. I'm no chemist, but a bit of attention to your moss balls...rotate them as particles gather.
Anyone has a restrictive back where you can't place a hangover filter that has modified a hood to hang a filter on the side? Or submerged or internal filters? I have an internal filter with a spray bar that both oxygenates and filters, but I also have a regular air pump with dual stones...I...
Seems to be in acceptable parameters. You should be good to go. I would still move the thermo to all corners to ensure the temp is adequate. Avoid any chems that create oils on the surface of the water(easy to spot). Your fishies should thrive...be careful not to add any that can out-chase or...
Where is your thermo located? A 20 long can vary in temp. I would place the heater in the opposite corner or the filter. 60ish is rough and can overwork the heater as well. Logic says where the water surface hits the air and aeration is where it will be cooled. Just a suggestion. Try moving the...
Tap, tap, tap...thats all I hear anymore. Softeners, hard water, well water...its important to know where your water is coming from...who thinks to test their tap???...RO water and many trips to the H20 store to fill my 5 gallon bottles...determine your fishies...harder or softer...brackish or...
What is your ambient temp in the room the tank is in? Do you open windows or otherwise? Heaters are measured at raising the temp of the tank based on circulation and ambient temps. Its winter in the north, so be aware of your room temp, filtration(submerged or otherwise), aeration,...
Its better in person to buy moss balls. Check them for color and ask to handle them. They can prove to be beneficial but don't waste money on ones you can't squeeze.
