You really should be feeding them baby brine shrimp the growth rate doubles compared to powdered and other prepared foods. Also if you have access to a fishless pond you can catch small daphnia and you can put as much of them into your tank as you want and they are just as nutricious as brine...
I suggest a bare tank with short sections of pvc pipe at 3/4"-1" in diameter I found is best for observation and cleaning, but it is up to your preference
bare tanks with sections of 3/4 to 1" pvc pipe is just as good as anything else and are easier to clean, plus if the pipe is placed so you can look into it makes breeding these guys even cooler
