- I have a 29gal freshwater tank that I've had for ~ 7 years with a variety of easily maintainable fish (tetras, swords, platties, catfish and 1 pleco). I've played around with several types of filters but settled on a Tetra Whisper Filter and a Guardian in-tank heater with a very stable set-up.
