Update: I did a little more research on my own, and saw someone say that water softeners remove calcium and replace with *sodium* (I may be wrong on what chemicals), but whatever they are ut lowers gh and I think raises kh. They recommended locating somewhere where you can get water before it is...
Yes, this is a planted tank. I know often people recommend against messing with water chemistry, but maybe if this is going to cause deficiencis for the plants I will want to change it.
My family moved a few weeks ago, and since we moved only a few miles and in same city, I assumed our water would be about the same. When I first set back up my tank, I just tested ph and the three in the nitrate cycle to make sure everything was running fine. A few days ago I tested the gh and...
I agree the 106 is probably more than i want to spend. I like the idea of the mini powerhead. I will look into either a mini if they make them, or just a low flow rt.
I pretty much agree with it, but I vaccum at least once a week, in addition to top offs. I feel like one of the problems is the jungles of ludwigia/rotala (im blanking out on what it is) and wisteria in the corners stop any flow in the area.
That's one of the things I was worried about with the...
If only..., but i guess everyone (at least everyone with a BBA problem) would have them in their tanks.
And then i guess chain per stores would start mass breeding them and then they'd breed out colors, and then...
Lately I have been noticing buildups of organic stuff (I would guess leaked dirt, maybe left over foot, fish crap, and other stuff) on some of the denser areas of plants in my 6.6g (24" long) and am wondering if the single AC 20 in the center isn't producing enough flow to the outside. Actually...
IMO you should work more on your tank's stock instead of turtles. Cories and clowns should have more fish in their school. I would guess it would benefit the barbs too, as usually they are schooling fish, although im not sure about that sp. Finally, the bottom part of the tank may start to get...
I don't know much about turtles, but I'm going to say no. Also, how big of a tank is this? Those fish get pretty big. And clown loaches should be in groups of around 6 I think.
First a few problems: like PNWaquarist said, Congos are an African sp. Also, the Anableps are a brackish fish, so I doubt they would last too long in a FW.
I too am planning a SA tank, and am probably going to have at least some of the same fish. For the rummynose, I would highly reccomend...
