Yeah, that's what I try to do, but it still creeps me out, lol. Wasn't sure if a good hand washing could really get out whatever floats into a cut during a pwc.
What do you guys do when you have a cut or scrape on your hand and it's water change day? I've heard fish water can have some scary stuff. Is it dangerous to you or the fish to put your hand in fish water with a cut? You can't use latex gloves can you?
I had a nerite recently. I had done research and knew about the egg thing, but my problem was poop! That snail pooped sooooo much! I've never seen anything like it. I was vacuuming like 3 times a week and still couldn't keep up!
I would do a PWC before you add new fish just so your water quality is as good as possible to introduce the new fish into. Remember to introduce them gradually and keep an eye on your parameters since you are increasing your bio load. I'm no expert, that's just my opinion. Hope that helps. :)...

I will definitely check that out. Thanks! I've heard so many people rave about the Python, I can't imagine its current state is how it's supposed to be working.

I just realized I think I misunderstood what you were saying. You mean using the Python but...
Yeah, I've been using one of those for the last few years. You're right, the suction is great, I was just hoping to do away with buckets and streamline my water changes and maintanence routine to save time so can possibly set up another tank. Or use the extra free time to spend with my...
