2nd the aquaclear with sponge for shirmp to do a quicker cycle of the tank buy some extra filter media for your 10gal (in approriate size for the 5gal's filter) and let it run in that tank for awhile
yeah i know there are a large quantity i didn't see any similar on the link posted above, if i get the chance (busy weekend) i'll go back to the store and try to snag a good pic
so i'm stealing the image from my friends website, he came up snapped a decent shot and since i'm cameraless it works.

no tank shots as its dirty atm fighting algae again, why arn't there any SW plecos?)
sadly no pic, it had the same body as a blue/green chromis only it was a peach yellow/orange color. size was on par with a green chromis, definitely not the first you mentioned (that came up on my google search for info)
anyone ever heard of these?
I was walking through a local pet store (mainly does dogs and birds but a nice mini fish setup) and saw a tank full of them. I'd never seen them before or even heard of them (thought chromis only came in blue or green). i'm curious as to their nature and hopefully...
roughly same size ones a little bit bigger than the other (how they were when first purchased) but both are still real young (i'm going by the black on them they both are still real dark)
So my true percs have been in the tank for almost a month now, half that time they did the kids thing of dividing the tank in half (one had the half in front of rock work, the other the half behind)/ Now they are hardly more than an inch apart does that mean they've paired up? They never...
well you can get a mystery snail (the huge ones) a nice party of ghost shirmp or cherry shrimp (to clean bottom), then throw some tetras in to take care of the middle of the tank. maybe a betta if you wanted a "showcase" fish
just an idea
you've mentioned the most popular in your post and the rest have shown as well. Pretty much any canister worth its salt will have the quick disconnect, my fluval 204 has it and at worse you'll get a few drips and unless you tip the canister when cleaning thats it
You could get PFS or play sand like a lot of planted tanks do.
as for the fluval if you use it you'll want to ditch the sponges as they will build up nitrates. With enough liverock and thus a live sand bed you can go filter-less and just use some powerheads and as a skimmer. you can empty it...
